Multicare Australia Pacific Centre is proud to launch its grassroots level brand, underscoring our commitment to providing tailored support services that foster a sense of cultural connection and belonging for Pacific individuals and families in Australia.

Embodying our passion for providing holistic support services that promote culturally competent methods to effectively meet identified needs of migrants from Pacific nations, working in collaboration with Australian government to provide cultural support programs. Our focus is on fostering culturally appropriate child protection, language service, bettering grassroots families and communities, improving services access, promote social cohesion, empowerment, advocacy and promoting inclusive Australian communities where Pacific cultures are celebrated and respected.

ABOUT OUR BOARD MEMBER
Pastor Opeta
Pastor Opeta Tautalafua

Pastor Opeta Tautalafua is a devoted Chaplain-Church Leader who develops Multifaith Churches across Australia, Samoa, and New Zealand. His work empowers Pacific Samoan multicultural individuals, both young and old, guiding them towards positive paths in life and away from incarceration and negative influences. Pastor Opeta is recognized as a supportive figure and advocate for Pacific youth who have encountered the Police and Juvenile Justice system. He has dedicated his life to serving others through his faith, often coinciding with his voluntary community work. Pastor Opeta is highly regarded in the Samoan Community for his unwavering mission to serve God and his people unconditionally. In addition, Pastor Opeta serves as Chaplain, Counsellor and Consultant for any child protection issues, domestic and family violence, Mental Health any settlement issues for our Pacific people in Australia and international.

Asiata Lagolago Selesele
Asiata Lagolago Selesele

Our President, highly respected Samoa High Chief Mr Asiata Selesele, is well regarded in the Faith City Churches and Samoan community in Australia, New Zealand, and Samoa for his knowledge and skills in the Samoan culture and traditions, both academic and formal spoken language. Mr Selesele is one of our Pacific Samoan elders and consultants, committing himself to helping children, families, and especially men to reduce domestic and family violence, while promoting happy families. He focuses on culturally appropriate decision-making and practices to reduce conflicts and misunderstandings on family issues. Mr Asiata’s skills and knowledge in leading families and communities culturally, professionally and respectfully have made huge impacts on our clients and members, improving their lifestyles, better families and promoting service access.

Fetuna Lee
Fetuna Lee
Chaplain Fetuna Lee, a New Zealand and Samoan retired teacher, has committed her life to serving children and young people of Pacific and Samoan background in Australia voluntarily. Fetuna graduated from Auckland University and Samoa Teachers College as a Primary School teacher and has been teaching in both Samoa and New Zealand. In addition, Fetuna gained Accreditation in Music- Piano. Fetuna is currently serving as a Pacific Counsellor and consultant for Pacific people relates to family matters involving domestic and family violence, provide counselling support to families and individuals, young people, faith communities or any other cultural community or family matters. Fetuna currently teaches Samoan language and piano to students attending the NSW Samoan Language School-Tuutuu I le Loloto.
Fia Pesa
Leulua’ialii Fia FAIGAFA PESA
Leulua’ialii Fia FAIGAFA PESA serves as our Chief Executive Officer, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep passion for supporting Pacific people across Australia. She earned her degree from Western Sydney University in 2004, holds a TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and has taught in both Samoa and Australia. Recently, Fia was awarded the prestigious High Achieving Teacher Scholarship by the Australian government and is currently working towards her Master of Teaching at Western Sydney University.

Fia’s career has spanned roles as a Project Officer supporting CALD communities in various NGOs, a Community Services educator at TAFE NSW, and a Senior Multicultural Child Protection Caseworker with the Department of Communities & Justice. She is also accredited by NAATI as a Samoan interpreter and translator. Widely recognised as a Pacific cultural consultant, Fia advocates for child protection issues, working closely with government agencies, families, and parents to address the unique needs of Pacific people in Australia.

With over twenty years of experience, Fia has dedicated her career to building connections between government sectors, and minority communities always striving to enhance opportunities and best outcomes for migrants and culturally diverse groups.

Objectives

Founder of Multicare Australia & Pacific Communities Centre, together with Australian research, recognised the necessity for specialised services to support Pacific Islands (PI) people settling in Australia. In response to these needs, the One Stop Community Support Centre was established. Its primary focus is to ensure the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of children & young people. The Centre also provides support to families and smaller PI groups, helping them to remain culturally connected within their homes and small culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities in working collaboration with the Australian government.

To advocate for, empower, support, and raise awareness among Pacific families and migrants by providing culturally competent services & training, delivering informed child protection practices, and offering effective family preservation services with a focus on the safety, welfare, and well-being of children, young people, and their minority groups.
